First Sunday Program
On the first Sunday of each month a short 40 minute program of music and words is conducted at the chapel from 9:30 to 10:10 AM. Music selections are organized by Charlie Phelps with readings chosen by George Manning and Tom Bresenhan. Beginning in January 2010 the program recognizes US Poet Laureates and Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress from the most recent backward until the first appointment in 1936. Other parts of the program consist of poets reading their works or speakers reading poetry of others. Music is provided on the John Wind organ and the piano by Charles Phelps or others on these or their own instruments. Each program includes a hymn.
